Letter To A Future Mother In Law
70PLEEZE LET YOUR DAUGHTER MARRY ME!
Current mood: blissful
This is a letter I wrote to Cheyenne's mom. Enjoy!
13 November 2007
Dear Ms. Foxworth,
My original draft of this letter was four pages long. After careful consideration, I decided to abridge this, and cut to the chase because what I have to say is really very simple. Ms. Foxworth, I am head over heels in love with your daughter. Cheyenne shines like a thousand suns in my world. Everyday I wake up with her name on my lips and go to sleep with her dancing in my dreams. She is everything I dreamed of and prayed for in a friend, a lover, and a soul mate. Cheyenne has been such a profoundly positive influence on my life.
I often tell her that I love her so much that I can't stand it. And it's true. I can't stand the thought my life without her. I honestly don't think God could have put two better matched people on the same path. I believe there is a reason Cheyenne and I crossed paths here in Lenoir. What an unlikely place for two people such as us to find ourselves face to face.
I prayed to the universe to send me someone not of this place; to send someone smart and goal oriented; to send someone who was compassionate and caring; someone who had wit and charm and a world view; someone who I could cut up with and take a good joke, as well as dish it out; someone I could confide in; someone who would love me for me- warts and all. And here she is. I found her. She found me.
I love everything about Cheyenne. I love her laugh, the way she scrunches up her nose when she's being silly. I love the way she plans out everything and sets an itinerary even if we're at a music festival. I love the way she keeps me on my toes and holds me accountable for things I say and do. I love the way she looks into my eyes and says "I love you" without even muttering a word. I am so in love with Cheyenne. She is everything I asked God for and so much more. I don't know what I did, or how I got so lucky to find her. But I did, and I don't want to let her go.
So with this letter I am asking for your blessing to have Cheyenne's hand in marriage. Cheyenne and I have discussed this and I have no doubt of her feelings for me. I want to spend the rest of my life with her and share the journey no matter how winding or bumpy it may get. She has made my life so full of happiness and fulfillment. Cheyenne is a breath of cool air in the summer of my life, and I can't imagine my world without her. I have a ring and am planning to ask her this weekend. Thank you so much.
Sincerely,
MARSON

That was a clever piece. Bet your mother in law adores you. I wish I would have thought about that.
